Investigating a claim at an early stage and thoroughly is clearly advantageous. Obtaining detailed information early in the investigation will help to decide whether to settle a claim having incurred comparatively modest costs, or whether to defend thus providing as economic a service as possible.

We have expertise in defending motor, public liability and employer’s liability claims across the country from Cornwall to Birmingham and Surrey. We also have extensive experience in a wide variety of work on behalf of local authorities, with particular ability in the more complex cases including abuse and failure to educate and stress claims.

Our service includes interviewing witnesses and undertaking locus reports. Talking through the issues in a claim with a witness on a face-to-face basis will give an investigator an opportunity not only to assess the witness for his ability to relate a history reliably and accurately, but will also often reveal key facts that are likely to be missed in a witness questionnaire or in a telephone interview.  When face to face one can refer to relevant contemporaneous documents which are likely to assist a witness in remembering an event where otherwise there may be gaps in information because the witness is honestly forgetful.

The team is headed by Partner Darren Salter, a former Loss Adjuster and FCII with 10 years in the Insurance Industry and now over 10 years as a Solicitor.
